Wedding season in Pakistan runs roughly from October to February, and for most brides and wedding guests the jewellery question comes down to two things: what will look right in the photos, and how much it should cost. This guide covers artificial (non-gold) bridal sets – the zircon, AD and crystal pieces most families now buy for at least some of the events.
What a bridal jewellery set includes
At its simplest, a set is a necklace with matching earrings. Larger bridal sets add a tikka or matha patti, a bracelet or a ring. More pieces does not always mean better value – check each product page for exactly what arrives, and whether the earrings are studs, drops or jhumkas, because that changes how heavy the set feels after a few hours.
Bridal jewellery set prices in Pakistan
Artificial bridal sets cover a wide price range. On marketplaces you will find basic sets for under Rs 2,000; established brands generally charge several thousand rupees for zircon sets, and heavy kundan or designer pieces can run into the tens of thousands. What you are paying for as the price rises:
- Stones. Crystal and glass are the most affordable. "Zircon" in jewellery shops usually means cubic zirconia – also called CZ or American diamond (AD) – which is harder and sparkles more, so it looks closer to real diamonds in photos.
- Setting. Claw-set stones catch more light than glued ones and are less likely to fall out.
- Plating and base metal. A good plated finish over brass or stainless steel lasts longer than a thin coat over cheap alloy.
- Size and coverage. A wide collar-style necklace uses far more stones than a single pendant.
At Zarvelle, sets currently start just under Rs 2,000 for a pendant-and-earrings locket set and go up to about Rs 5,500 for our fullest bridal set, Céleste. The product page always shows the current price.
Which set for which event?
Barat
The barat is the day for your boldest piece. With a heavily embroidered red or maroon lehenga, gold-tone or kundan jewellery is the traditional match. If you're wearing pastel, ivory, silver or a lighter red, a wide sparkling collar such as the crystal Aveline or the zircon Céleste keeps the look bright without competing with the embroidery.
Nikkah
Nikkah outfits are often lighter – white, ivory, blush or pastel – and the ceremony is close-up and intimate. A clean teardrop set like Alessia or a delicate pendant set looks elegant without feeling like barat jewellery.
Walima
Walima looks have moved towards soft and glamorous. Silver-tone zircon suits the pastel and metallic outfits that are popular for walima, and it photographs well under bright hall lighting. See our nikkah & walima sets.
Mehndi, dholki and guest looks
Mehndi is traditionally about colour and flowers. If you're a guest or the bride's sister, a colour-pop set in pink, blue or violet – like Soirée, Crystal Drop or Sirène – is easy to match to your dupatta and light enough to dance in.
Silver-tone or gold-tone?
Match the jewellery to the strongest metal in your outfit. Gold zari, tilla and dabka embroidery usually look best with gold-tone or kundan. Silver work, sequins, pearls and pastel fabrics look sharper with silver-tone zircon. If your outfit mixes both, choose the jewellery that matches the embroidery nearest your neckline.
A checklist before you order online
- Ask for real photos or a video. A trustworthy seller will send them on WhatsApp.
- Check what's included – necklace and earrings only, or bracelet and tikka too.
- Check the closure. An adjustable chain or extender lets you set the necklace to your neckline.
- Count back from the event date. Leave time for delivery and a possible exchange; in-stock pieces are the safest choice when the date is close.
- Read the exchange policy, and prefer Cash on Delivery if you haven't bought from the seller before.
On the day
Put on perfume and hair spray before your jewellery, not after, and keep the set in its pouch between events. Our guide to stopping artificial jewellery from turning black covers the rest.
